FAQFrequently Asked Questions
Find clear answers about our bookbinding adhesive grades, packaging formats, sample orders, bulk supply, and how our team supports your production needs. We work with both new buyers testing compatibility and established binderies placing regular large-volume orders.
Hot melt bookbinding glue is made from EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) polymer, while water-based book binding gum uses PVA (polyvinyl acetate) emulsion. Both types bond paper, board, and cloth substrates used in book manufacturing.
Hot melt adhesive suits automated lines needing fast set for high-speed perfect binding. PVA bookbinding gum works best for case binding, hand operations, and binderies where flexibility and eco-conscious production matter more than speed.
Yes. Our hot melt grades work for paperback (perfect binding) and hardcover (case binding and endpaper attachment). PVA adhesive is also used for case binding and hand-crafted work where open time and flexibility are needed.
Hot melt glue for bookbinding is applied between 160°C and 180°C. Too high causes charring and bond weakness. Too low means poor spine penetration and weak page adhesion after the glue sets and cools.
Store hot melt blocks in a cool, dry area away from heat and sunlight. Keep PVA bookbinding gum above 5°C to avoid freeze damage. Both types have a 12-month shelf life from manufacture when stored correctly.
